Ring has unveiled a new range of security cameras and doorbells in Australia and New Zealand, featuring 2K and 4K video quality, artificial intelligence-based features, and updated designs aimed at enhancing neighborhood safety. The new lineup includes devices equipped with Retinal Vision technology in both 2K and 4K resolutions, providing clearer and more detailed surveillance footage for residential users.

The 4K lineup comprises the Wired Video Doorbell Pro (3rd Gen), Spotlight Camera Pro (2nd Gen), Floodlight Camera Pro (2nd Gen), and Outdoor Camera Pro, all supporting 4K video through Retinal 4K technology. These cameras boast improved performance under low-light conditions and up to 10x Enhanced Zoom, capturing critical visual details with higher accuracy.

Rather than just enhancing resolution, Ring’s Retinal Vision imaging system combines higher resolution with advanced AI tuning, optimizing video quality throughout the recording and playback process. This innovation results in sharper and more lifelike footage for users, regardless of lighting conditions.

Mark Fletcher, APAC Managing Director at Ring and Blink, expressed excitement about the launch, highlighting the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of home security. The introduction of Retinal Vision technology marks a significant milestone for customers in Australia and New Zealand who are known for being early adopters of smart home technology.

Outdoor options like the Spotlight Cam Pro and Floodlight Cam Pro offer varying brightness levels with spotlights ranging from 600 to 2000 lumens to cover different outdoor spaces. Equipped with Low-Light Site technology, these models enhance color video capture during low-light situations.

The Wired Video Doorbell Pro and Outdoor Camera Pro provide enhanced imaging and security features, including adaptive night vision and 3D motion detection with up to 10x zoom, aiding users in identifying details even in darkness.

In addition to the 4K devices, Ring introduced Retinal 2K Vision in the Indoor Camera Plus and Wired Video Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) to deliver improved pixel density and clarity. These products offer Low-Light Sight, adaptive night vision, and up to 4x enhanced zoom for enhanced monitoring capabilities in different lighting conditions.

The company also unveiled a new AI feature called Smart Video Descriptions, soon to be available in Australia and New Zealand. This feature uses generative AI to provide real-time text descriptions of motion events detected by Ring cameras and doorbells, helping users quickly differentiate between routine activities and urgent events.

The pricing for the new products varies, with the Wired Video Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) priced at AUD $299 or NZD $329, while the Wired Video Doorbell Pro (3rd Gen) ranges from AUD $399 to AUD $499. The Indoor Camera Plus is priced at AUD $99, and the Outdoor Camera Pro ranges from AUD $329 to AUD $479. The Spotlight Camera Pro and Floodlight Camera Pro are priced between AUD $399 and AUD $549.

Customers can pre-order the new products through various physical and online retailers in Australia and New Zealand. Ring Home plans are available at different price points, with the Premium plan required for access to the new AI-powered Video Descriptions feature.
